DMW CEO, Davido performed to over 50,000 people at 2018 Wireless Festival in UK with other headliners like J Cole, Post Malone, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Stormzy, DJ Khaled, Giggs, Rae Sremmurd, Big Sean, Wiley, Rick Ross, and Mabel but Davido stole the show with his energetic and breathtaking performance.
The Wireless Festival is the UK’s premier urban music festival, held inside London’s Finsbury Park. It’s a 3 days event from Friday 5th to Sunday 8th and also has 3 stages; the main stage, Pepsi Max stage and Smirnoff House stage. Davido performed on Saturday at both the Main stage and the Pepsi stage shutting down both with his stellar performance.
Hours before his performance Davido posted a picture of himself on Instagram wearing a shirt with the inscription that read; ‘Long Live Olu”, which is a tribute to his late friend, DJ Olu, who died mysteriously in 2017.
Davido was not alone as he invited his artiste, Mayorkun who flew to London to join him and he also had his official dj, DJ Ecool with him who did a great job also as his hype man by introducing Davido on stage.
Davido performed a bunch of his hit songs including ‘IF’, ‘Fall’, ‘Fia’ and ‘Skelewu’. While he also backed up Mayorkun who performed his hits ‘Che Che Che’ and ‘Mama’.
But despite earlier controversy surrounding the time of his performance, it wasn’t until exactly around 5.30pm, when Davido was ushered on stage by his personal disc jockey, DJ Ecool.
Spotting the national colours of the English National team, Davido jumped on stage hyping the fans as he began his set with his 2012 hit song, ‘Ema Dami Duro’.
In 2017, Wizkid was the only Nigerian who featured at the Wireless Festival.
