Davido Pushes Back Release Date for Upcoming Album ‘5ive’
Afrobeats superstar Davido has rescheduled the release of his highly anticipated fifth studio album, ‘5ive.’ Initially set to drop on March 15, 2025, the project will now be released on April 18, 2025. The singer has not disclosed the reason for the delay, but fans remain eager as they count down to the new date.

The year has already been eventful for Davido, who secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammy Awards, earning a nod for Best African Music Performance for his feature on Chris Brown’s ‘Sensational’. He has also bagged five nomination at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, including the prestigious Artist of the Year category.
Leading up to the album’s release, Davido has dropped two singles: ‘Awuke,’ featuring rising Jamaican Dancehall act YG Marley, and ‘Funds,’ a collaboration with Chike and ODUMODUBLVCK. In his announcement, Davido described 5ive as a deeply personal project, emphasising his growth, truth, and journey through music.
Anticipation for the album remains high, with rumoured collaborations including Omah Lay and Adekunle Gold, who recently hinted at making an appearance on the project. With ‘5ive,’ Davido and his fans will be looking to replicate the massive success of his record-breaking fourth album, ‘Timeless.’
