Nigerian Afrobeat Legend and Pioneer, Fela Kuti have been nominated for the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the U.S.
The late Nigerian afrobeat maestro was nominated alongside Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden, Jay-Z, Chaka Khan, Carole King, LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Rage Against The Machine, Todd Rundgren, Tina Turner, and Dianne Warwick.
Should the late Nigerian Fela Kuti win after the voting process is over, He and other inductees will be announced in May, 2021.
The 2021 edition of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is billed for April, 2021, in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a Museum and Hall of Fame located in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, that archives the history of legendary rock artists, producers, and every other revered personality that have contributed to its growth.
In a statement by the Hall of Fame, fans can start voting for their favorite artists right away.
The statement read;
“It a list of 16 remarkably talented and diverse artists, and starting right now, you can take part in the Fan vote and cast your ballot at rockhall.com.
“Select up to five nominees each time and you can vote daily. The fan vote is now open.
“The new inductees will be announced in May (2021). They will be honoured at the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony right here in Cleveland, Ohio this fall.”
