Veteran Nigerian Music star Sir Shina Peters has been ordained as a Bishop.
Sir Shina Peters was ordained as a Bishop in Lagos by the Cherubim and Seraphim church during the weekend.
The ordination ceremony which held at the Iju area of Lagos State on Saturday, January 30, 2021 confirmed the Afro Juju legend as a Bishop.
The excited Shina Peters shared his joy on social media with a video captioned;
“Bishop with the swagger, God above all”
The Afro Juju maestro was fully clad in his all-white garment while he posed for a photo shoot after receiving his certificate of ordination.
He went on social media on Sunday to announce the good news which was met with streams of accolades and congratulations from fans.
Sir Shina Peters was born in 1958 in Ogun State as Oluwashina Akanbi Peters and shot to stardom in the 80’s when he launched his debut album “Ace (Afro-Juju Series 1) in 1989 under CBS Records of Nigeria.
Having began his career at a tender age, he started with a band named Olushina and His Twelve Fantastic Brothers. He learnt how to play the piano and other instruments. Ever since he got his big break, he has remained relevant in his music niche.
His first album earned him critical acclaim in Nigeria and some awards. Notably the artist and album of the year at the Nigerian Musical Awards.
And then more albums from his staples came to the mainstream which further announced his fame across the country and Africa.
Peters has 16 albums to his credit since his entry into the Nigerian Music Afro-Juju scene.
Sir Peters is happily married to veteran actress Clarion Chukwura who he met when he starred in a movie titled “Money Power” produced by Ola Balogun. The marriage produced a son Clarence Peters who is also famous as a music video producer.
