Odunsi (The Engine) Announces 3-Track EP “Nigerian Boyfriend” Dropping Wednesday

Nigerian alté pioneer, Odunsi (The Engine), is set to release his highly anticipated three-track project titled “Nigerian Boyfriend”, which features the tracks “BACK IN OFFICE,” “BLU INTENTIONS,” and “LANGUAGE.” Known for his genre-bending sounds, Odunsi intends to push creative boundaries with this project, drawing from elements of R&B, Afrobeats, and 2000s Nigerian pop. Fans are particularly excited about a snippet shared by Odunsi which could be titled “BACK IN OFFICE.” The song samples the rhythm from P-Square’s classic hit “Do Me,” and is a nostalgic nod to Nigerian pop royalty.

This release follows Odunsi’s pattern of pushing boundaries within the Nigerian music scene, as seen in his earlier projects like “rare.”
In addition to the musical release, the rollout has been equally engaging, with alté-style flicks and photos that feature women posing with a playful “Nigerian Boyfriend” cake, adding to the quirky, retro aesthetic Odunsi is known for.
