Nigerian indigenous rapper Olamide, has revealed the reason why he signed his protégé, Fireboy into his record label YBNL.
According to the Baddo, he was done signing artists to his label until he met Fireboy and all of that changed.
Olamide revealed this in an interview with OkayAfrica saying that Fireboy’s kind is rare and not many acts in his league can make the kind of music that he does.
On why he signed Fireboy, Olamide revealed that it’s because of his sound and that hasn’t changed one bit. The YBNL boss added that his protégé makes the kind of music way beyond his age and that in fact Fireboy is 57 years old which was a joke that served as a comic interlude.
Fireboy who also spoke as the duo were interviewed shortly after landing in New York for their promo tour said Olamide was a man of few words.
