Phyno: Putting the Industry on Chokehold.

For quite sometime this year, Phyno made it he was dropping an album, and knowing the caliber of Phyno’s artistry, expectations became high. Fans got eager, critics were getting themselves ready, what was Phyno going to present to us this time? That was the question on the minds of many.
Phyno first came through with a track titled “Time Of My Life,” one out of the tracks from the album in which he featured U.K Drill rapper Arrdee, and with that release and such unexpected collab, it was clear that Phyno wasn’t playing around.

The release of Time Of My Life had fans and music lovers eating it up as they couldn’t get enough of Phyno doing what he does best and Arrdee showing off his versatility as a rapper on a whole different sound.
A few days after the release of Time Of My Life, and with the buzz still high on the track, Phyno had the music scene on its feet again as he unveiled the tracklist for his 5th studio album, and once again, it had many in frenzy. From expected collabs such as Cheque, Flavour and Burna Boy, to an unexpected surprise guest on the tracklist Hushpuppi, Phyno had the internet talking, and eager waiting for the D-day to arrive.

On the 4th of October 2024, as it was scheduled, Phyno released his 5th Studio Album “Full Time Job.”
Right from the early hours of the morning to the end of that period, it was a trending topic that had many fans posting and talking about it. The buzz became even louder as applauds came in, praises came in, reviews came in, videos of fans vibing came in, it was a spectacle on the internet.
Within hours, Full Time Job was on many people’s feeds as they showered praises and acknowledged Phyno’s artistry on his new album. One of the songs that also caught people’s attention was track 9 titled “Grateful” where he sampled the classice and popular Nigerian gospel song “Kporo Ya Isi N’ala” by Gozie & Njideka Okeke. The same day, Phyno announced the music video of “Grateful” was released for all to enjoy.

Within hours, Phyno’s Full Time Job became the #No1 Album on Apple Music NG Top Albums Chart. It really was no surprise as most people knew it was just a matter of time before Full Time Job got the due praise and recognition it deserves for being an awesome body of work.
Regarded as his best work yet, Phyno really put in the work to get all this love and acknowledgment he is getting, and it is safe to say he has really taken this music thing as a Full Time Job.
