18 years since his debut album and 4 years after his eighth studio album, Timaya makes a comeback with “Gladiator,” his ninth studio album. According to a post via Timaya’s Instagram, the album is set to drop in 7 days on the 15th of August. The announcement, which is the lone Instagram post on the artist’s feed, suggests album mode and includes the album’s tracklist and artwork.
The artwork is a headshot painting of Timaya standing in the colosseum—an iconic Roman amphitheater—clad in gladiator attire, precious chains, and a record label-customized brooch that holds his robe.
The album contains 13 tracks and features Olamide, Phyno, Alpha P, Tiwa Savage, Mr. Killa, Eugy Official, Konshens, and a variety of producers. And although Timaya is not an artist big on rollouts, he has released five lead singles off the album, namely “Sweet Us,” “In My Head” ft. Tiwa Savage, “Dey Your Dey,” and the album’s outro, “Get My Money Right.”
The announcement also hints that this will not be Timaya’s final album
